“Une place pour elles”: Originally an Italian initiative («posto occupato») has now also expanded to French speaking countries. This initiative invites participants to cover a chair with a red cloth in a public place and a sign explaining that “this chair is booked for her”, she should have been among us but she is not because she has died through the violence of her partner. This chair is a way of remembering her, making her absence visible, breaking the taboo. This initiative has been undertaken in city halls, airports, classrooms, church services.
